The forecast for the next week is for lows in the lower 20’s and highs in the 40’s. It will be mostly cloudy with 5 to 15 MPH NNE winds with a 50% chance of sleet Wednesday and a 40% chance of rain Thursday. Friday there will be a 20% chance of rain. Saturday and Sunday will be partly cloudy with lows in the lower 20s and highs in the 30s. This striper fishing is great if you can stand the bitter cold. Remember, this is Texas and it could very easily be in the 60s next week.
We had 163 fishermen brave the cold weather to fish in December. They brought a total of 1,430 stripers to the cleaning table. Only 68 fishermen took on the colder and wetter January weather. They brought in 313 stripers. You can see the pictures of the fish caught during December and the few days we could get on the lake during January on www.tinker.net.
The early morning bite is preferred by most hardcore fishermen. The late bite is super during the full moon.
